How can a learning environment notice what a learner is doing and respond in a way that helps them learn? This open course looks at that question from three angles: the learning science of interaction, the design of adaptation (what to adapt, to which learner characteristics, when, and on what evidence), and analytics (how interaction data becomes learner models, predictions, and dashboards people can act on). Across the term you design, build, pilot, and openly publish an adaptive learning prototype with an analytics plan. Every required reading is open access, and every required tool is free or open source.
